Do you honestly expect a similar multigenerational leap in the next 20 years?
By all signs, the advances in smartphone tech are slowing down – have been for a while now. Every new advance is more and more incremental, every new model increasingly lackluster. If a year 2005 phone was hopelessly obsolete by 2010, a smartphone from 2017 (SGS8) still holds its own today.
Now, will a smartphone from 2022 last a decade before it’s obsolete? Chances are high. We better prepare for it.
